Researcher and Project Engineer
Tobias Link joined the polymer engineering department of Fraunhofer ICT in 2015.
As a project engineer and research assistant he is responsible for the process technology for processing of unidirectional fiber reinforced thermoplastic tapes (UD tapes).
This covers the manufacture of 2D layups in automated tape laying as well as
consolidation of the layups, thermoforming and functionalization in compression or injection molding.
Tobias studied mechanical engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
During his bachelor's degree program he focused on mechanical science and engineering technology.
After gaining his bachelor's degree in 2011 he continued with the master's degree program focusing on automotive engineering and lightweight design and gained his master's degree in 2015.
